Using the iPhone AirDrop Feature

AirDrop is a convenient and efficient feature available on iPhones that allows you to quickly and wirelessly share files, photos, videos, contacts, and more with other iOS or macOS users. Sending Files with AirDrop

1. Open the app or select the file you want to share using AirDrop.

2. Look for the Share button within the app or file. It typically appears as an arrow pointing upwards or as a square with an arrow pointing out from the center.

   • Examples of apps that support AirDrop sharing include Photos, Files, Safari, Notes, Contacts, and more.

   

3. Tap the Share button to open the sharing options.

4. In the sharing options, you will see a list of contacts and nearby devices available for AirDrop. Tap on the recipient's device to proceed. If the recipient is not listed, ensure that they have AirDrop enabled on their device, and both devices are in close proximity with AirDrop visibility set to "Everyone."

   • You can also tap the AirDrop icon directly to enable the "Everyone" visibility temporarily, allowing any nearby device to discover your iPhone.

   

5. Once you select the recipient, a confirmation message may appear on their device, asking them to accept or decline the incoming file. If they accept, the file transfer will begin.

Receiving Files with AirDrop

When someone wants to share files with you using AirDrop, follow these steps to receive them:

1. Make sure AirDrop is enabled on your iPhone (refer to the "Enabling AirDrop" section above).

2. Keep your iPhone's screen unlocked and active.
