Sharing Your Android Device's Internet Connection with Hotspot

In this tutorial, we will learn how to share the internet connection of your Android device with other devices using the built-in mobile hotspot feature. The mobile hotspot functionality allows you to create a Wi-Fi network that can be accessed by other devices, such as laptops, tablets, or other smartphones. Let's get started!

Step 1: Enable Mobile Hotspot on your Android Device

  1. Open the Settings app on your Android device.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Network & internet.
  3. Look for the Hotspot & tethering option and tap on it.
  4. Tap on Wi-Fi hotspot to access the hotspot settings.
  5. Toggle the switch to enable the Wi-Fi hotspot.

Step 2: Configure Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings

  1. Once the hotspot is enabled, you can customize its settings by tapping on the Wi-Fi hotspot option.
  2. In this menu, you can change the Network name (SSID) to something more recognizable or leave it as the default.
  3. Tap on the Password field to set a secure password for the hotspot. Make sure to use a strong, unique password.
  4. You can also choose the Security type for your hotspot. WPA2 is recommended for better security.
  5. After making any desired changes, tap the back icon to save your settings.

Step 3: Connect Other Devices to the Hotspot

  1. On the device you want to connect, open the Settings app.
  2. Look for the Wi-Fi settings and tap on it.
  3. You should see your Android device's hotspot network in the list of available networks.
  4. Tap on the network to connect to it.
  5. If you set a password in the previous step, you will be prompted to enter it. Provide the correct password and tap Connect.
  6. Once connected, the other device will have access to the internet through your Android device's mobile data connection.

Step 4: Check Mobile Hotspot Status

  1. To check the status of the mobile hotspot, open the Settings app on your Android device.
  2. Navigate to Network & internet -> Hotspot & tethering -> Wi-Fi hotspot.
  3. You will be able to see the number of connected devices and other details related to the hotspot.
  4. From here, you can also turn off the hotspot if you no longer need to share your internet connection.

Congratulations! You have successfully set up a mobile hotspot on your Android device and shared its internet connection with other devices. Remember to keep an eye on your data usage, as it will be shared among the connected devices. Enjoy staying connected wherever you go!

Note: The availability of the mobile hotspot feature may vary depending on your device manufacturer or carrier.
