How to Use Windows Photo Viewer for Image Viewing

Windows Photo Viewer is a simple yet powerful application that allows you to view and manage your images on Windows operating systems. In this tutorial, you will learn how to effectively use Windows Photo Viewer for image viewing.

Prerequisites

  • A computer running Windows operating system (Windows 7, 8, or 10).

Steps

  1. Locating Windows Photo Viewer:

    • Click on the Start button located at the bottom left corner of your screen.
    • Type "Windows Photo Viewer" in the search bar and press Enter.
    • The Windows Photo Viewer application should appear in the search results. Click on it to launch the application.
  2. Opening an Image:

    • With Windows Photo Viewer open, click on the File tab in the upper left corner.
    • Select Open from the dropdown menu.
    • Navigate to the folder where your desired image is located.
    • Click on the image file you want to open and click Open.

  5. Image Rotation:

    • If your image appears sideways or upside-down, you can easily rotate it in Windows Photo Viewer.
    • Click on the Rotate Clockwise button located in the toolbar at the bottom of the window to rotate the image 90 degrees clockwise.
    • Alternatively, you can click on the Rotate Counterclockwise button to rotate the image 90 degrees counterclockwise.
  6. Slideshow Mode:

    • Windows Photo Viewer gives you the option to view your images in a slideshow format.
    • Go to the View tab in the upper left corner of the window.
    • Click on the Slideshow option.
    • Your images will now be displayed in fullscreen mode and automatically transition from one image to another.
  7. Printing Images:

    • If you want to print an image using Windows Photo Viewer, start by opening the desired image.
    • Go to the File tab in the upper left corner of the window.
    • Select the Print option from the dropdown menu.
    • Customize the print settings as per your preference (e.g., paper size, orientation, etc.).
    • Click on the Print button to start printing the image.
  8. Closing Windows Photo Viewer:

    • To close the Windows Photo Viewer application, simply click on the X button located in the upper right corner of the window.
