How to Use the Reading List Feature in Safari

Are you tired of losing interesting articles or webpages that you want to read later? Safari, the default web browser on Apple devices, has a handy feature called Reading List that allows you to save webpages for later reading. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of using the Reading List feature in Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Step 1: Adding Webpages to Your Reading List

  1. Launch Safari on your device.
  2. Navigate to the webpage that you want to save for later.
  3. Tap the share button located at the bottom of the screen (iPhone or iPad) or the top-right corner (Mac).
  4. In the share sheet that appears, find and tap the "Add to Reading List" option.
  5. Safari will then save the webpage to your Reading List.

Step 2: Accessing Your Reading List

iPhone and iPad

Step 3: Managing Your Reading List

Deleting a Webpage from your Reading List

  1. Open the Reading List on your device following the instructions mentioned in Step 2.
  2. Locate the webpage you want to remove.
  3. Swipe left on the webpage or right-click on it (Mac) to reveal the delete button.
  4. Tap the delete button, and the webpage will be removed from your Reading List.

Marking a Webpage as Read or Unread

  1. Open the Reading List on your device.
  2. Find the webpage you want to mark as read or unread.
  3. Tap the webpage to open it.
  4. At the top of the webpage, you will find a bookmark icon with a checkmark (read) or without a checkmark (unread). Tap the icon to toggle between read and unread status.

Organizing Webpages in the Reading List

  1. Open the Reading List on your device.
  2. On iPhone or iPad, you can swipe left on a webpage to reveal the drag handle. Press and hold the handle, then drag the webpage to a new position.
  3. On Mac, simply click and hold on a webpage, then drag it to a different location within the Reading List.

Step 4: Reading Webpages from Your Reading List

  1. Open the Reading List on your device following the instructions mentioned in Step 2.
  2. Tap on the webpage you want to read.
  3. Safari will load the webpage, allowing you to read it just like you would with any other webpage.
