How to Share Facebook Posts on LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a professional networking platform that allows users to connect with colleagues, build professional networks, and share content related to their industry. While LinkedIn is primarily focused on professional networking, sometimes you may come across a Facebook post that you want to share with your LinkedIn connections. In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to share Facebook posts on LinkedIn.

Preconditions

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

  • A Facebook account
  • A LinkedIn account

Step 1: Find the Facebook Post You Want to Share

Log in to your Facebook account and find the post you want to share on LinkedIn. This could be a news article, a job posting, an interesting infographic, or any other type of content you think your LinkedIn connections will find valuable.

Step 2: Copy the Facebook Post URL

Click on the timestamp of the Facebook post. This will take you to the post's unique URL. Copy the URL from the browser address bar.

Step 3: Open LinkedIn in a New Tab

Open a new tab in your web browser and go to the LinkedIn website (www.linkedin.com). Log in to your LinkedIn account if you haven't already done so.

Step 4: Start a New Post on LinkedIn

On your LinkedIn homepage, you will find a box that says "Start a post". Click on it to begin creating a new post.

Step 5: Paste the Facebook Post URL

In the post box, paste the URL of the Facebook post that you copied in Step 2. You will notice that LinkedIn automatically fetches the metadata, such as the post title, description, and image, from the Facebook post.

Step 6: Customize the Post

LinkedIn allows you to add your own message or commentary to the shared post. This is a good opportunity to add some context or explain why you found the post interesting. You can also @mention individuals or companies to give them credit or draw their attention to the post.

Step 7: Choose the Post Visibility

LinkedIn allows you to control who can see your posts. You can choose to share the post with your connections, a specific group of connections, or even publicly. Select the desired visibility settings for your post.

Step 8: Publish the Post

When you're satisfied with the post content and visibility, click on the "Post" button to share the Facebook post on LinkedIn.

Congratulations! You have successfully shared a Facebook post on LinkedIn. Your LinkedIn connections will now be able to see the shared post on their feed and engage with it by liking, commenting, or sharing.

Tips and Best Practices:

  • Make sure the Facebook post you're sharing is public. If it's a private post, your LinkedIn connections may not be able to view it.
  • Consider the relevance and appropriateness of the content for your LinkedIn network. Sharing too many Facebook posts on LinkedIn may negatively impact your professional image.
  • When adding your own commentary to the shared post, keep it professional and relevant to your industry or area of expertise.
  • Engage with the comments and interactions on your shared post to foster meaningful discussions with your LinkedIn connections.

Now go ahead and start sharing interesting Facebook posts with your LinkedIn network!
