Windows allows you to customize your desktop experience by personalizing themes and colors. By changing themes and customizing colors, you can give your Windows desktop a unique look and feel that suits your preferences. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to personalize your Windows themes and colors.

Prerequisites

Before we begin, make sure you have the following:

  • A computer running Windows (version 10 or later).
  • Administrative privileges on the system.

Step 1: Open the Personalization Settings

  1. Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize from the context menu. Alternatively, you can go to Settings by clicking on the Start button and selecting the gear icon.

  2. In the Personalization settings, you will find various options to customize your Windows experience.

Step 2: Choose a Theme

  1. In the Personalization settings, click on the Themes tab in the left sidebar.

  2. Browse through the available themes and select the one you like. Windows offers a range of built-in themes to choose from, or you can even download additional themes from the Microsoft Store.

  3. To preview a theme, click on it, and it will display a preview of how your desktop will look.

  4. Once you have chosen a theme, click on Apply to set it as your current theme.

Step 3: Customize Theme Settings

  1. After applying a theme, you can further customize its settings by clicking on the Theme settings option under the themes gallery.

  3. After making any changes, click on Save changes to apply them.

Step 4: Change Accent Colors

  1. Go back to the Personalization settings.

  2. Click on the Colors tab in the left sidebar.

  3. In the Colors settings, you have the option to choose an accent color for your Windows interface.

  4. Toggle the switch under Show accent color on the following surfaces to enable or disable accent colors. When enabled, the accent color will be applied to various elements like the Start menu, taskbar, title bars, etc.

  5. Choose a color from the predefined options or click on Custom color to select a specific hue.

  6. Additionally, you can enable or disable transparency effects by toggling the switch under Transparency effects.

  7. Once you have finished customizing the color settings, the changes will take effect immediately.
