How to Check and Update Your Mac's Security Settings

Step 1: Accessing Security & Privacy Settings

Step 2: General Security Settings

  1. In the Security & Privacy window, navigate to the "General" tab.
  2. Ensure the padlock icon in the bottom-left corner is unlocked. Click it and enter your administrator password if necessary.
  3. Check the "Turn on FileVault" option to encrypt the contents of your entire disk. This ensures your data remains secure even if your Mac is lost or stolen.
