  1. Launch the WhatsApp application on your smartphone.
  2. Tap on the Menu icon (three vertical dots) located at the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

  3. Once connected, choose the backup frequency that suits your needs. You can select Daily, Weekly, or Monthly, or you can choose to backup manually by selecting Only when I tap "Backup".
  4. Under the same backup settings menu, select the Google account you want to use for the backup if you have multiple accounts connected.
  5. To include videos in the backup, toggle the Include videos option on. Keep in mind that videos might consume a significant amount of storage space.

Step 3: Initiate the WhatsApp backup

  1. After setting up the backup frequency and options, tap on Backup to start the backup process. This might take a few moments, depending on the size of your chats and media files.
  2. Once the backup is complete, you will see the date and time of the last successful backup under the Back up to Google Drive section.

Step 4: Configure additional backup settings (optional)

  1. In the Chat backup settings menu, you can choose to include or exclude specific conversations from the backup. Tap on Include or Exclude to choose desired conversations.
  2. If you want to back up your WhatsApp data using Wi-Fi only, ensure the Wi-Fi option is selected under the Back up over section. This helps to conserve mobile data if you have a limited data plan.
