Creating Instagram Highlights

Instagram Highlights are a great way to showcase your best stories to your profile visitors. These highlights are saved stories that appear at the top of your Instagram profile, allowing you to highlight important moments or share specific themes with your audience. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to create captivating Instagram Highlights using the Instagram mobile app.

Prerequisites

• You need to have the Instagram mobile app installed on your smartphone.
• You should have an active Instagram account.

Step 1: Launch Instagram and Access Your Stories

1. Open the Instagram app on your smartphone.
2. Tap on your profile picture at the bottom right corner of the screen. This will take you to your profile page.

Step 2: Create a New Story

1. Tap on the "+" button at the top left corner of your profile picture. This will start a new story.
2. Capture a photo or record a video for your story by tapping the white circle button at the bottom of the screen. You can also select an existing photo/video from your gallery by swiping up on the screen.
3. Enhance your story by adding filters, text, stickers, or drawings using the available options at the top of the screen.
4. Once you are satisfied with your story, tap on the "Your Story" button at the bottom left corner of the screen to publish it.

Step 3: Highlighting a Story

1. After publishing your story, it will be available for 24 hours at the top of your followers' feeds. To highlight it, tap on the "Highlight" button located at the bottom right corner of your story.
2. If you have existing highlights, you can choose to add it to one of them, or tap on the "+" button to create a new highlight.
3. Give your highlight a name by typing it in the "New Highlight" field.
4. Customize your highlight cover by selecting an icon from the available options or choosing a cover image from your story.
5. Tap on "Add" to create your highlight.

Step 4: Editing and Managing Highlights

1. To edit or manage your existing highlights, go to your profile page and tap on the "Highlights" section located below your profile description.
2. To edit a highlight, tap and hold on the highlight you want to edit and select "Edit Highlight."
3. You can now reorder the stories within the highlight, change the cover image, or remove stories from the highlight.
4. To remove a highlight, tap and hold on the highlight you want to remove and select "Remove Highlight." Note that removing a highlight will not delete the original stories.
