Crafting Instagram Story Highlights

Instagram Story Highlights are a great feature that allow you to showcase your favorite stories at the top of your Instagram profile. They are a way to curate and organize your stories so that they can be easily accessible to your followers even after the 24-hour time limit of regular stories.

In this tutorial, I will guide you through the process of crafting Instagram Story Highlights, including how to create custom covers, organize your highlights, and edit their settings.

Prerequisites

An active Instagram account
The latest version of the Instagram app installed on your mobile device

Step 1: Selecting Stories for Highlights

Open the Instagram app on your mobile device.
Tap on your profile picture at the bottom right corner of the screen to access your profile.
Tap on the "+" button labeled "New" below your bio.

This will take you to your story archive. Scroll through your archived stories and select the ones you want to add to your highlight by tapping on them. Selected stories will have a blue checkmark at the bottom right corner.

Step 2: Creating a Highlight

Once you have selected the stories for your highlight, tap on the "Next" button at the bottom right corner.
Now you can set the cover for your highlight. Choose a cover that represents the theme or content of your highlight. You can either select a cover from the stories you have chosen or tap on the "+" button to add a new cover from your camera roll. Adjust the cover by zooming in or out and position it as desired.
Tap on the "Next" button.

Step 3: Customizing Highlight Name and Cover

Now you can customize the name and cover of your highlight.
Enter a name for your highlight in the text field at the top. Choose a name that succinctly describes the content of the stories in the highlight.
To edit the cover, tap on the "Edit Cover" button below the name field.
You can choose from the available colors or tap on the photo icon to select a custom cover from your camera roll. Adjust the cover as needed and tap on the "Done" button.

Step 4: Rearranging Highlights

To rearrange the order of your highlights, go to your profile and tap on the "Edit Highlight" button below the highlights section.
Tap and hold on a highlight you want to move and then drag it to the desired position.
Repeat the same process to rearrange all the highlights according to your preference.
Tap on the "Done" button to save the changes.

Step 5: Editing Highlight Settings

To edit the settings of a highlight, go to your profile and tap on the highlight that you want to modify.
At the bottom right corner, tap on the three dots icon to access the settings for that highlight.
From the settings menu, you can rename the highlight, delete it, or adjust the privacy settings.
If you want to hide your highlights from specific followers, you can select the "Hide From" option and choose the followers you want to hide the highlight from.

That's it! You have successfully crafted Instagram Story Highlights. Now your selected stories will be displayed as highlights at the top of your Instagram profile, allowing your followers to access and enjoy them beyond the usual 24-hour lifespan.
